United States Attemps to Mediate Russian-Georgian Conflict
Russian leader Vladimir Putin and US President Bush
Guess who is condemning Russia for alleged “bullying” in Georgia? None other then American President, George W. Bush! Recently he has spoken out on Russia’s invasion onto Georgian territory, stating that the US does not approve and that Russia needs to retreat.
If you are unaware, about a week ago, Russia sent troops to Ossetia, Georgia. According to President Bush, "Bullying and intimidation are not acceptable ways to conduct foreign policy in the 21st Century.” Oh really Mr. President? Bullying is only allowed when we do it?
President Bush’s statement was influenced by the fact that after a ceasefire was initiated Russian Troops still remained on Georgian territory.
Anywho, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice is in Georgia now, in hopes to arrange a peace agreement between the two disputing countries, and maintain the US and Russian alliance.
Next piece in Afghanistan and Iraq? Let’s cross sour Fingers. We want our troop’s home before 2010….right?
