A young, 20 year old Brooklynite, who goes by the name Ease, has defined the term Hustlin' by his current pursuit to find his way.
A skilled MC and an emerging Style Icon in Bed-Stuy, BK, looked at his current situation and decided he wouldn't settle for less. Jobs have come and gone, just to make ends meet and pay for studio time. Money has been devoted to pursuing a higher education, but when he realized that the classroom setting wasn't aiding to his pursuit, he took the blessings that came his way and made them into a dream come true.
He dedicated hours upon hours on perfecting his craft as an MC. Battling other rappers for cash prizes on popular DVD's was his night gig. And any other chance he had, he spit over any beat that played and layed down tracks in a Brooklyn studio. He was featured on a fellow Brooklyn rapper's mix tape, outshining him on wax and at performances.
A great interview hook up led Ease to the Rocawear offices, where his known family charm wowed the exec's. He landed a position as Jay-Z's closet intern.
Ease used his go-getter attitude and approached his position as if it were his career, which led to him being one of the only two interns left in the office and put on the payroll. And by being himself, an outspoken individual, he made friends with the other employees throughout the office. And ended up rubbing elbows with the likes of designers and managers.
In the early spring of 2008, Ease and his business partner and producer Lue began to influence the streets of Bed-Stuy with their style of dress, their demeanor, their swag. But when no stores could offer them a hot tee for the weekend's event, the two came up with their own. And with that, Planet Swagg was born. A line of tee's, cardigans, varsity jackets and hoodies for men and women is in development. Donning embroidery, patchwork and clever phrases.
He is focused and continues to hustle his way into the industry, one step and a time. With his goals, aspirations and determination, Ease continues to negate the stereotypes of
Black men and women in America! Hustling comes natural..its in his blood!
Look out for the official mix tape by Ease next year. As well the debut collection from
Planet Swagg!
Peace,
