Girl Power, Power!! Congratulations to Ms. Denise Simmons! . On January 14, 2008 the Cambridge city council proclaimed her mayor of Cambridge, Massachusetts, a position which earned Ms. Simmons the title of being the second consecutively black openly gay mayor of Cambridge, Massachusetts (although her predecessor Ken Reeves was male). This is a wonderful victory, and I am Happy for her. Just in time for Martin Luther King Jr. Day…Sweet!
