Say it's Not so...The Truth About The Entertainment Industry

How about that? I’m not the only self aware, outspoken, rebellious, borderline activist out there! Natasha from theybf.com also conquers; I applaud that she is aware of the “lack of Black” in the media realm. Well she was aware wnought to start a blog Duh....YoungBlackAndFabulous! Anyways I was attending to my daily habit when I ran across an entry in which Natasha quotes a successful black actress on her opinion of the limitations enforced on black actors/actresses. I agree 110% (so I had to post it). The following is courtesing of theybf.com, featuring quotes from actress,Elise Neal.

"When asked about having to deal with overwhelming and “stalking-like” fans in public, she said, “They (the press) don’t let us (black entertainers) get that big…so we don’t have that problem.” Hmmm…so of course..this got me thinkin. Besides Oprah, who in Black America has the same probs as say…Lindsay Lohan or Paris Hilton? No damn body. And those two little white girls have only done a few movies. Nothing ABSOLUTELY SPECTACULAR. I’m a little insulted…so I decided to do something about it.

My blog is for updates/pics/gossip on our FABULOUS peers in Black America. Add in my trend alerts and fashion opinions and you will become and/or remain Young, Black, and Fabulous. Hopefully my site can serve as your haven for the much longed for info you have needed and wanted about the fabulousness of Black America."

Damn this world is cruel! However the first step is recognizing the problem...Now what? Start our own blogs and websites, enlighten and love one another.Shout outs to Halle, Denzel, Forest, ectera…Thank you for paving the way for the future. Hopefully by 2010 Will will initiate a third hand, in the countdowm to Black actors/actresses to win the Academy Award(in over 70 years of production). Lets get it!Keep hope alive!
