UPS, Federal Express, DHL, they are carrier services that we all depend on to deliver our packages nation and sometimes worldwide. However when it comes to speedy delivery, great customer service, and communication DHL is NOT the shipping service to rely on this holiday season.
As I stated just last night, I lost my Blackberry over the weekend, and if anyone knows me, my Berry and me were inseparable. My telephone insurance company as well as numerous DHL representatives assured me that I would receive my package on December 18, 2007 before 3 PM. Me being the planner that I am I called the customer service office to request that the service center notify me as soon as the package was in NYC’s DHL location possession, so that I could determine if it would be in my best interest to pick up the package or to wait around for the delivery. They made the proper notation in the computer since they were not at liberty (as per DHL policy) to give me the station’s phone number. Basically I could not reach the station personally; I had to continue calling the third party at customer service so that they could get in touch with the station, that was the only way to notify the station to get in touch with me on the scheduled date of delivery, so that I could have the option of pick up or delivery. The station in NYC called me on Monday, December 17, 2008. To assure me that they got the memo and that as soon as they got my package on the following day, they would call me.
Do you think I got a call from them today? I had to call the customer service number in the morning (since I know they open at 8 AM) to see if my package was in New York City, but the third party says, “it’s to early to tell”. Mind you when I track the device on the Internet the dates are all wrong and it states that I will receive my package before 3 PM, on Monday. Go figure? So I take my behind back to sleep, because we all know I am not an 8 AM type of girl. After my beauty rest, at around 11 AM I call the customer service number 1800 Call-DHL, (I had to do my own research to obtain the station number in NYC only to call and find out that they don’t answer the phone (due to short staff…not my problem)), they tell me it is in route and should be in my possession before 3 PM. So that’s twice that I have spoken to a representative and was assured I could get my package before 3 PM. I have lunch, get dressed, and at 2:30 I still don’t have anything, so you know me…I call again.
I speak with a young lady named Tiffany, who tells me that they are 3 hours behind and that I would not receive my package until 6! Well what happened to my call? And when I called the other 3 million times why didn’t anyone make me aware of that? I could have picked it up. So I am livid by then, and request that Tiffany put me in contact with a manager immediately. The manager, Eddie Sosa, says that they are behind due to the holidays, like I care. I am a busy woman and I need to run my errands, so he tells me to leave a note with my signature and tracking number so that they can leave the package at my door. Do you think that worked? I get home at 11PM to a note stating that they didn’t feel comfortable leaving it! Mother Fuckers! So now I have to wake up at like 7 AM to go all the way downtown if I want my package! Bloody DHL! All of the employees that I spoke to agreed with my complaints as if they hear this from customer’s everyday. One even told me yeah, “ That’s why its so cheap to ship packages”. I asked the last employee that I called this evening after I read that fucking dumb ass note (I had to get the address of were to pick up my phone), if she agreed with the company policy and the customer service, and she said “ they pay me well”. I see were there heads are at! All I have to say is “ GO TO HELL DHL”!!!
